I am honored that you would consider me as a possible guest speaker for your next women’s conference or special event. It is my passion to be a Titus 2 woman! I would love to come and share with you about the most influential roles in our society: wife, mother, and daughter of the King! It is my heart to encourage and spur on every audience in their walk with the Lord! I look forward to hearing from you!
In Him,
Susan
Why did I choose to call my blog The Modern Mayflower?
First, I feel like I should say I LOVE living in the United States and realize (although not fully, because I have never lived outside of it) how blessed I am to have been born in a country such as this. This really is a rags to riches kind of place; and the opportunities are practically limitless. Please do not misunderstand and think me unpatriotic with a name such as The Modern Mayflower. I don’t think it was a new country those on board the Mayflower were longing for as much as it was a new ideology on living their lives.
I do long for a simpler and purer way of life.
I am not so naive as to believe there is any Utopian place this side of heaven.
What I mean, is a different way of thinking—a grass roots movement, to REALLY think about what our culture is sliding into, intentionally and unintentionally, and make informed and educated decisions as individuals.
I want to eat REAL food.
I want to provide a REAL education for my children; an education that produces adults who do not need a continual task master, but rather, know how to think and discern according to God’s standards.
I want to be a REAL CHRISTIAN, in word AND deed. I want to be burdened for those who are burdened.
I want to raise up children with a REAL faith, not dependent on the faith of their dad and I, but a faith that is their own!
I want a REAL and genuine way of life. I want to be transparent and encouraging.
I want to love all in my small corner of the world, and anywhere else I have a voice. I will not, and cannot, love with empty words. That is not the stuff I’m made of.
I want to challenge, and be challenged, to be more like the Jesus I love!
Truth is not always easy to serve; nor is it always easy to receive. But it is so worth the having.
Just as those aboard the original Mayflower were searching for a life aligned with God's principles, so is the case with The Modern Mayflower.
This was the thinking behind the name The Modern Mayflower Blog. Now, you know. :)
Thank you for taking the time to read The Modern Mayflower Blog. I am humbled; (SERIOUSLY) that my words could impact one life, and I hope that life is yours! Please stick around and share a bit of life!
In Love,
Susan
